Let is Snow!

Today is a great day! Why you ask, BECAUSE IT'S SNOWING A TON!!! It looks like a blizzard out there. I was excited when I woke up and saw the snow. I wasn't very excited to drive in it, but I took it slow on my way to work. I made okay with no problems. I might have made a few drivers mad or annoyed though because I drove slow and they were all passing me. Lets just say I was the one who DIDN'T slide off the road! :) Happy snowy day. Only 9 days till Christmas morning!

Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas

Hi friends! It’s been a couple months since I have updated the Drage Family Blog! Whew, maybe that should be a new year’s resolution or something; to update the blog more often.

Well Halloween was fun! Matt and I decided to stay home so we could meet and greet the trick-or-treaters but NO ONE came by! We bought tons of candy so we have been eating ever since. We also rented a scary movie and it was so... scary! During the movie our power went out and Matt and I freaked! Ha ha.

Thanksgiving was nice since we got two. First we went to Matt’s parents. Their turkey was yummy! Then we went to my parents and had even more food and pie! Mmmm. Matt and I decided to make Pumpkin pie. He was in charge of the dry stuff like spices, flour, etc. and I was in charge of making the crust! After we made the crust and mixed the pumpkin filling all was good to go so we put it in the oven and waited for it to cook for an hour! We thought we were right on schedule. We had about an hour and a half till we had to be to the first Thanksgiving. The pie had just come out of the oven and I was testing it to see if it was set up enough. When I pulled out the knife a little pumpkin came out on it so I decided to try it! To my surprise it tasted, JUST LIKE A PUMPKIN! I ran into Matt and said, "Did you remember to add the sugar"? He said, "What sugar"? :) Ha ha. Needles to say we remade the crust and another pie in a record 20 minutes cooked it and only made it to our first Thanksgiving a little late. Next year we will know how to cook a pie.

A couple weekends ago we had a Christmas dinner at our place. Matt and I were happy that everyone could come! It was a really fun time and all the food was SCRUMPTIOUS! Oh, Jeff & Trista thanks for the Pictionary game! :)

This past weekend my brother Trent, his wife Cären and their two kids Max and Sadie came to visit from Seattle. It was a lot of fun! I got to take Friday off and then do family stuff all weekend. We went shopping, saw the lights downtown, went out for dinner and played in the snow. Max hadn't ever played in the snow really so he loved it! The dogs did too! They were running in circles and chasing each other like crazy! I really loved the snow storm and I hope it snows MORE!

Matt and I are just getting ready for Christmas. We almost have all the gifts purchased and wrapped. We can't wait for our first Christmas together. We want to go ice skating down at the Gallivan Center so let us know if you are interested.

I have had a couple friends get engaged recently and I am so happy for you both! Lindsay the day will be fabulous and I am so excited to be a part of it, thank you! Kadee, I am so happy that Nick found you! :) You two are a cute couple and I can't wait for you to get married!

All in all, everything is good. Matt still works for Leucadia and I am still working for Callware Technologies. The jobs are great and we feel lucky to have them.

For those of you who don't know Matt was called to be the Young Men’s president about a month ago and he is enjoying it. I was just called as a ward missionary so that should be fun!

Everyone have a wonderful Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Isn't Matt the cutest person in the whole wide world?

Well Matt, I think you're the cutest ever!

Love, your wifey

Change!

So, as you all might know Matt and I got married on August 21st 2008! Its was the best day ever. So much has changed! Matt and I bought a townhome which we love! We love the area a ton and the neighborhood we are in is quiet! Sometimes too quiet... jk. When we get settled a little more we will have to have a housewarming party. :) That would be tons of fun. I will keep you posted.

So far the married life is great! I sure like it and I know Matt does too. He he. Last night we went to Wheeler Farm and fed the crazy ducks and geese. They are so FUNNY! After we fed the ducks we noticed there were other animals to tease... or feed. We saw bunnies, sheep, horses, cows, etc. The cows were STINKY! It was disgusting. They do NOT smell good. We went over to the piglet cage and saw little baby pigs and a HUGE dirty pig which was the mom. The little baby pigs were so cute though! I really was enjoying watching the piglets until two rats came out and started running around the pig pen. Nasty. Eh. After we saw the piggies we went over to try and pet the horses. A cute little donkey came over and wanted Matt and I to pet it but then a crazy horse with blue eyes ran over and had to attack the poor little donkey. The horse bit the donkey and so the donkey ran away and we never got to pet it. Stupid horse. I refrained from feeding the mean horse and treats.

My newish job is going well. I have been working for Callware for 4 months now. Matt is still working for Leucadia and likes it. He does accounting for them. Matt is starting to study for the GMAT now. Good luck Matt! I will try and leave you alone so you can study! :) Hopefully Matt will be able to get into grad school here in Utah. He wants to go to the U of course or Westminster. Keep your fingers crossed.

Welcome!

Hi everyone!

I just celebrated the 4th with my boyfriend Matt. The both of us spent the day relaxing and shopping at Gateway Mall. We went to Franklin Covey field to the Bee's baseball game for fireworks and of course hot dogs! Mmmm!!!! The fireworks were great! The seats we had faced to the southeast so we were also able to see the fireworks at Rice Eccles Stadium too. After the game Matt and I walked past a fire station where the fireman were lighting their own fireworks or practicing on putting them out, I couldn't tell what they were up to.

My birthday was on the 15th of June, I turned 23. I love growing up! There are so many things to experience and do. I just can't wait for what the next year will bring. I spent the 15th with Matt, of course. We went to dinner at the Blue Boar Inn in Midway http://www.theblueboarinn.com. Dinner was just tasty! The soufflé’s are to die for. If you go there, try one! Thanks to everyone that remembered me on my birthday, it always helps me feel important!

Matt just celebrated his birthday on the 3rd or July. I'm not sure how much he would appreciate it if I told his age! (Matt, I think you are still young, and hot!) ☺ I made him a cake in the shape of a duck! I can't believe that my visions of a duck cake, really turned out. I will try and track down a picture and post it.

Lately, I have been into being outdoorsy activities. I know you all must be shocked! To tell you the truth it has been kind of fun, except when I get dirty, get splinters, get bug bites or get cold, oh and when the smoke from the fire gets in my eyes. Yeah, yeah, you are all probably thinking that I hate it. Matt and I actually have gone fishing a few times, but we haven't really caught anything! We try and try and try! We go to lake after lake, but NOTHING! Well, not nothing - a few weeks ago we went to Deer Creek Reservoir and caught seven fish! Come to find out later they were all babies! What do I know, I am a beginner! If anyone has any good fishing suggestions, I am all ears.

About two months ago I got a great promotion at work! The transition from doing creative design work to accounts payable has been interesting and in the beginning just awful! I am now the office administrator. I manage the staff of seven, cut checks to the agents (wish I cut my own! I would make sure I got a good bonus every now and then) process accounts payable, process tons of paperwork and I am also in charge of associating (interviewing) new agents. At times it is really stressful, especially when I have to get mad at someone and fire them! Just kidding. Hopefully that won't happen.

The mom and dad are going out of town to the family reunion and to visit the bro and sis, but unfortunately I have to work. Like dad said, "you should get your MBA (Management by Absence). Yeah, wishful thinking! I would love to come, but that's life I guess. Ya'll will have to let me know how the vaca/family reunion goes.

Well, it has been good trying to keep everyone updated with my life, but I have to get going!
